Destined To Kill…Odors

A parody of “Machete” (which itself started off as a fake trailer in “Grindhouse”), Xtréme double wields Right Guard deodorant sticks. Instead of killing people, he deodorizes them. The client loved Machete. They even asked us to amp up the violence in each of the “kill” scenes.

Unfortunately the Paris attacks happened a week before the final presentation in Germany. As the clients are all European, the tragedy obviously affected them all greatly, and thus they decided to not pursue anything that was related to “violence”. Danny Trejo had already said he would do the spot, and Robert Rodriguez allowed for the parody. Nothing we could do to save it at that point.

99% Less Residue

Brief was simple: make :15s, get that point across, and have fun. Test scores came back great, even for hispanic (which they were never designed for anyway), and two of them were recommended to go into production by the testing agency. At the end of the day the client decided to save the money on producing the spots and keep running their old campaign. Oh well.
